CHLORIDE EXIDE WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Warranty Coverage:

    • The warranty covers manufacturing defects for 1 year or 20,000 Kms, whichever comes first, under the General Warranty.
    • The Special Warranty covers manufacturing defects for 1 year or 12,000 Kms, whichever comes first.

  2. Warranty Issuer:

    • The warranty is provided exclusively by CHLORIDE EXIDE and not by the dealers.

  3. Battery Compatibility:

    • Always install the recommended battery type and size as advised by authorized dealers. Warranty terms do not apply if the battery is improperly used or installed.

  4. Solar Battery Usage:

    • For solar batteries, the appropriate solar panel and a charge controller must be used to ensure correct charging.

  5. Warranty Exclusions:

    • The warranty does not cover defects resulting from:

    • Adding battery acid (diluted or concentrated) or draining and refilling with acid.

    • Overcharging, undercharging, high mileage, or worn-out plates.

    • Leaving the battery idle for more than one month; the battery should be charged at least once monthly.

    • External damage, such as broken containers or lids.

    • Contamination or low electrolyte levels in vented batteries.

    • Self-repairs.

    • Over-discharged plates due to excessive heat or boost charging.

  6. Replacement Battery Warranty:

    • Replacement batteries provided under warranty are covered only for the remaining period of the original warranty.

  7. Policy Replacements:

    • Batteries replaced under policy do not carry a new warranty.

  8. Battery Maintenance:

    • Regular maintenance, including electrolyte level checks (for vented batteries) and terminal cleaning, must be conducted by the user. Warranty does not cover issues arising from inadequate maintenance.

  9. Warranty Eligibility:

    • Warranty claims must be accompanied by the original purchase receipt and warranty card from an authorized CHLORIDE EXIDE dealer.
    • The warranty is void if the battery is used in unauthorized applications, such as extreme-duty vehicles or equipment not approved by CHLORIDE EXIDE.

  10. Authorized Service Centers:

    • Warranty services must be performed at authorized CHLORIDE EXIDE service centers. Unauthorized services or modifications will void the warranty.

  11. Transportation Costs:

    • Transportation or shipping costs for warranty service are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise specified by CHLORIDE EXIDE. The company is not liable for damages or losses during transport.

  12. Battery Storage and Handling:

    • Batteries should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Prolonged storage in extreme temperatures or in a discharged state may reduce battery performance, which is not covered by warranty. Wear protective clothing, safety foot wear, safety goggles, dust masks and gloves when handling or using batteries or the electrolyte (acid)

  13. Warranty Transferability:

    • The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is non-transferable if the battery is resold or transferred to another owner.

  14. Exclusion of Consequential Damages:

    • CHLORIDE EXIDE is not liable for incidental or consequential damages, such as vehicle breakdowns, lost time, or additional costs related to battery failure.

  15. Inspection Requirement:

    • Defective batteries must be inspected and approved by CHLORIDE EXIDE or authorized personnel before any replacements are made.

  16. Conditions of Use:

    • Warranty does not apply to batteries subjected to abnormal or unreasonable use, including failure to follow installation, usage, and maintenance guidelines provided by CHLORIDE EXIDE.

  17. Modifications to Terms:

    • CHLORIDE EXIDE reserves the right to modify or update warranty terms without prior notice. Any changes apply to products purchased after the effective date of the updated terms.

  18. Limitation of Liability:

    • The maximum liability under this warranty is limited to the original purchase price of the battery.

  19. Force Majeure:

    • CHLORIDE EXIDE is not responsible for delays or failure in warranty service due to events beyond its control, including natural disasters, strikes, or material shortages.

  20. Disposal

  • Spent lead-acid batteries should not be disposed in the domestic waste or be mixed with other batteries in order to prevent danger to humans and the environment.
